Poetry

….continuation of creativity expressed

These poems are inspired by the present textile art piece I am working on.

Golden DeLight
I Am Awareness and Energy
in a place of Being and Knowing
I Am a Sovereign Being, here now
in a place of living Fully, Happily and Growing
breath in, breath out
breath in, breath out
breath in, breath out
I AM my hearts Golden DeLight

………………

Nature’s Sweet DeLight
Opportunity arises
a breeze flows through the air
My branches are dancing, swaying and moving
to Nature’s Sweet DeLight
All around me nature’s sweet grace dances together
to the celestial music composed in the air
As the breeze moves on to my branches graced in stillness
universal source nourishes the dance within

With Sweet Grace.

Golden DeLight

A new textile exploration…

textile art, beads and fabric

When I begin a new project I always have a vision or feeling of the finished artwork. Golden DeLight is about working with the sun, light and the new. We’ll see how this transpires as the weaving progresses.

So much fun making these beads and working with wire. Each one taking on their own image of a spirally cosmic nest.

I’m excited about this weaving as I’ll be incorporating some found objects that I’ve picked up on my morning walks. Oh, the pure joy of co-creating!

Poetry

….a continuation of creativity expressed

Light Warrior
Light Investigator
Light Be-er
Sometimes I just
can’t stop writing
about Light!

………………

As I begin this brand new day
in my light Beingness way
I extend filaments of joy and love
just as the breeze carries the flight of a dove

………………

I Love All of You
every crevice, every turn, every particle
All of You
your smile, your doubting self, your curious nature
All of You
inside and out, outside and in, heart space everywhere now
All of You
all that you live, all that you are, all that embraces you
All of You
every thread of your universe, every presence of your Being
All of You
I Love All of You

White on White

Absorb & Reflect – Light

Having a vision and intention when beginning an artwork, I am not attached to its outcome. Every weave and knot is an inward stillpoint of silence.

The physical aspects of this piece have an awareness of the different surfaces and how they absorb light and reflect white, all colors – be it a bright white, blue white, grey white, white white, and on and on.

The rainbow spectrums on the artwork and wall are truly a visual pun for White on White.

Creating Big

Sharing a past post that today still rings true for creating, creativity and working with the mandala as an expressive and spiritual art process.  Enjoy!

Within the Circle

mandala

Moving beyond a standard size sheet of paper, going from an 8×8″ paper size to an 24×36″, to create a mandala can be a turn to an unknown world. It stretches our comfort zone. It’s too large, that’s a lot of space to fill, it will take forever, are some of the concerns expressed. Here is an introductory mandala exercise that will ease the jitters of creating large! Mandala Connect-the-Dots. Working with eight or sixteen spokes, the connect-the-dot mandala is designed to act as a guide for drawing, along with allowing for the intuitive process and creativity to flow. Mandala Connect-the-Dots is also for anyone exploring the circle, looking for an expressive art form for meditation, or for creating community connections working together coloring a mandala. Children, teens, adults, watercolors, acrylics, crayons, markers, or colored pencils.

Download Mandala Connect-the-Dots and have the eight or sixteen spoke mandala printed in B/W, 24×36″ at an office supply store such as Home Depot. Here in the U.S. a B/W print is $3.00.

Dots to Stars: A creative way to involve young children and teens is to turn the dots into stars! With a colored pencil or marker, draw stars over/on top of the dots. Express the stars free hand or use small star cookie cutters or star templates. Connect the stars to create a personal Star Constellation Mandala.

White on White

With Playful Natural Lighting

My creating space has beautiful sunlight throughout the day. The light coming through the windows cast all kinds of shadow designs that create new masterpieces of their own against the textile work. Always in awe of these happenings.

Creative Adventures

New Materials, New Beginnings

Following instincts to explore new materials, I found myself going through my closet to upcycle clothes I no longer wear. My intention was to start a weaving that did not involve a frame, and create freestyle. The process was freeing, organic and filled with discovery – texture, color, loose, tight, clay, fabric, knotting, weaving, smooth, shiny, child-like, balance and reflecting light. I am happy how this textile art turned out and have decided to do a series of three. I’ve begun the second which will be all white. The third will be rainbow.

There are several aspects I like about this new process, (1) fabric knotting and how it creates a spine down each twine, (2) the way weaving with ribbon and shiny pipe cleaners reflects light, (3) making beads with terra cotta clay and (4) the how each new material ends up being loose or tight, taking on a life of its own.

This new creative adventure has my mind and heart coming up with many ways to expand this process and collaborate with community. Stay posted for more to come!
